RE Curriculum
Religious Education at Pippins School is designed as a holistic enquiry into belief, belonging and behaviour . In Key Stage 1, pupils explore Christianity alongside Judaism and Islam, developing skills of recognising, retelling and describing religious stories, symbols and practices . As they move into Key Stage 2, learning deepens through describing, explaining, interpreting and evaluating key concepts across Christianity, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam . Throughout the curriculum, pupils are encouraged to link religious study with their own reflections on meaning, purpose and values.
Across all year groups, children develop the ability to ask thoughtful questions, understand different viewpoints and show respect for diverse beliefs and traditions . The curriculum supports pupils in exploring how beliefs influence actions, celebrations, commitment and daily life, while building empathy and critical thinking. By Year 6, pupils can compare interpretations, reflect on their own views and demonstrate a secure understanding of how religion shapes identity and community.
