We  have a very busy and exciting Summer term ahead!

Summer Term Topics

We are excited to introduce the following curriculum topics to the children for the Summer Term:

Sunshine and sunflowers

In the sunshine and sunflowers topic your child will explore their local environment and se how it has changed throughout the year. They will grow, explore and investigate flowers and vegetables. They will learn how to care for plants and minibeasts and explore different types. This will include investigating real tadpoles and caterpillars and learning about their life cycles. They will take part in outdoor learning activities, explore nature and have a picnic at a local park.

Go on a picnic

Plant some fast growing seeds such as cress

Shadows and Reflections

Children will explore shadows, learn how they are formed and investigate how they change shape and size. They will explore reflections by investigating how different materials and surfaces reflect light.

Find some reflective items at home to investigate

Discuss shadows that you see, draw around your shadows
