We  have a very busy and exciting Spring term ahead!

Spring Term Topics

We are excited to introduce the following curriculum topics to the children for the Spring Term:

Dinosaurs.

Your child will find out about prehistoric animals that lived on Earth. They will learn facts about dinosaurs and discover how big some of these giant creatures were. They will learn the difference between herbivores and carnivores, they will also learn about the dinosaurs modern day relatives. 

Supporting your child at home.

Go to the Natural History museum website and look at interesting facts about dinosaurs-or better still, go to the museum!

Go to the cbeebies dinosaur website and explore the games and videos together.

Look up interesting dinosar facts to share with the class.

Puddles and Rainbows.

Your child will learn about the weather associated with the Season of Spring. They will explore natural phenomena, such as spring flowers and will observe the changes and events that happen in Spring time, including Shrove Tuesday, Mothers Day and Easter. They will explore colours found in the natural environment and learn how to mix primary colours to make new colours. They will also use the colour monster story to explore their feelings.

Supporting your child at home:

Walk in your local environment and talk about the changes that have happened since Winter.

Go on a colour hunt and find objects that are all the different colours of the rainbow.

Watch the weather forecast together and make a note of the different weather throughout the week.

Go outside on a rainy day and find puddles to jump in!

Talk to your child about their feelings and share the colour monster story at home.
