EYFS Outdoor Learning Transformation
Date: 18th Feb 2022 @ 3:36pm
Our early years outdoor learning environment has undergone a huge transformation!
September 2021
Our garden resources were very old and weathered, we were very excited to begin our transformation!
October 2021
We prepared the garden clearing our resources ready for our new surfaces to be laid. We chose an all-weather AstroTurf for the majority of the garden and a soft surface track for the children to ride our trikes, bike and scooters.
By the end of November, stage 1 of our transformation was complete. The children have now got a fantastic safe surface area in the garden.
December 2021
We were ready to take delivery of some fantastic key features for our new area. We now have a number of new wooden resources including a playhouse, a tepee, a sandpit, a climbing tunnel, and a number of benches for both adults and the children.
Mrs Bailey and Mrs Fowler enjoyed putting the playhouse together with a little help from the children.
February 2022
There was much excitement of the news that our new climbing equipment was ready to be installed.
The children were very inquisitive and wanted to watch how the climbing frame was going to be put together. They asked the builders lots of questions!
It took 2 days for the climbing frame to be built and it looks amazing!
The children now have a place to challenge their physical abilities testing their perseverance and their critical thinking.
Stage 2 of our transformation is now complete and as spring approaches we will now move on to the final stage. We will be creating a natural environment for the children to explore at the end of the garden. This will include a mud kitchen, mini beast hotel and a growing area including a vegetable patch and herb garden.
We will keep you updated as our exciting transformation continues!
